AYA Consulting Firm recognizes the strength and power of our stories and experiences and uses a foundation in consciousness to build the capacity of our leaders. Our ability to be aware, informed and conscious to our experiences and narratives create conditions for people to truly align theory to action past our subconscious. We explore our internal state to align behavior and actions towards progress and growth.
Our practices and strategies have a foundation in constructivist theory which affirms that people develop their own understanding and knowledge of the world, through experiencing life and reflecting on those experiences. While many trainings are grounded in content without fully integrating the foundations of this theory, which grounds in an individual’s ability to increase awareness and consciousness to their own experiences and narratives.
Understanding an individual’s cognitive integration of traumatic events is critical to facilitating healing and culturally responsive development strategies and practices. We acknowledge the harmful impacts of the past and explicitly integrate critical consciousness at the foundation of our learning experiences.
In every landscape and context, we acknowledge the intergenerational and historic trauma and impact of history, and seek to understand the needs of our clients and the communities that our clients serve to exist in reflection of the transitions of our world.
We believe that leadership exists within and in order to truly reimagine systems and disrupt the generational cycles of inequity, we must call for active participation and reflection of one’s self in the process of meaning and knowledge construction.
